OCES Announces Expansion to Serve More - The organization now serves 34 communities across Plymouth County and the South Shore
Old Colony Elder Services (OCES), the largest provider of in-home and community-based services for older adults and people living with disabilities in Southeastern Massachusetts, has expanded its territory to serve 11 additional towns in the South Shore.
The Executive Office of Aging and Independence (AGE) designated OCES as the Aging Services Access Point (ASAP) for Greater Plymouth County and the South Shore. OCES now provides diverse services, including Home Care, Protective Services, and Nutrition Services such as Meals on Wheels to Braintree, Cohasset, Hingham, Holbrook, Hull, Milton, Norwell, Quincy, Randolph, Scituate, and Weymouth.
The award-winning nonprofit is proud to serve all 34 communities across Plymouth County and the South Shore.
“We are excited to welcome these new communities to OCES and to build on the important work already taking place. This expansion allows us to reach more older adults and individuals. We are committed to providing comprehensive services and resources that enable Greater Plymouth County and South Shore residents to thrive in their own homes and in the community,” said Nicole Long, OCES’ CEO.
Many of the communities in OCES’ expanded service area border Plymouth County cities and towns where OCES has been making a positive impact on the lives of older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their families for more than 52 years.
Founded in 1974, OCES continues to grow and evolve in response to the needs of the communities it serves. With locations in Brockton and Plymouth, OCES has a team of over 381 employees. OCES is governed by a Board of Directors, whose members represent the communities we serve including new directors who have been appointed from the new expanded area. The organization’s leadership team includes Nicole Long, Chief Executive Officer; Anna Dee, Chief Operating Officer; Alisa DeLage, Chief Programs Officer; and Yolanda America, Chief Financial Officer.
As OCES expands its reach, the organization is looking forward to building new relationships throughout the expanded services area. OCES invites community organizations, municipalities, providers, businesses, and other local partners to connect with us. Together, we can strengthen the network of support available to older adults, individuals with disabilities, caregivers and families across the South Shore.
Having expanded its service area, OCES is looking to hire positive and motivated individuals to become part of its talented team. OCES is a culturally diverse and inclusive organization, fostering a culture of open communication and transparency.

Putting the Spotlight on Local Caregivers During National Family Caregivers Month – OCES Encourages Caregiver Nominations through October 12th
National Family Caregivers Month, celebrated every November, recognizes the dedication and compassion of family caregivers in our communities.
According to the National Alliance for Caregiving and AARP’s Caregiving in the US 2025 report, one in four adults, 63 million Americans, are family caregivers. A significant number of family caregivers care for adults with complex medical conditions or disabilities, including dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

OCES Announces Upcoming LGBTQ+ Brunches for Older Adults
Old Colony Elder Services (OCES), the largest provider of in-home and community-based services for older adults and people living with disabilities throughout Plymouth County, the South Shore and surrounding area, has announced the schedule for the South Shore LGBTQ+ Brunch for Older Adults program.
The monthly Saturday brunch program, operated and supported by OCES’ Nutrition Program, is for LGBTQ+ older adults who live on the South Shore and in the greater Plymouth County area.

Beat the Heat: Find a Cooling Center Near You
As temperatures rise, it's important to take steps to stay safe and prevent heat-related illness. Older adults, young children, and individuals with chronic health conditions are especially vulnerable during periods of extreme heat.
To help you stay safe, OCES has provided a list of cooling centers throughout our service area to make it easier to find a location near you. You can also dial 2-1-1 anytime for free assistance in locating the nearest cooling center or other community resources.
