OCES to celebrate the 2024 Subaru Share the Love® Event

In celebration of the 2024 Subaru Share the Love® Event, OCES Nutrition Program participates in the campaign to support local older adults through Meals on Wheels.  OCES’ Nutrition Program provides 543,835 meals a year to Plymouth County and the surrounding communities.

As part of a national partnership with Meals on Wheels America, Subaru of America, Inc. and its retailers will donate a minimum of $300 to a charity, like Meals on Wheels, for every new vehicle leased or sold from November 21, 2024, to January 2, 2025. Since the Subaru Share the Love Event began in 2008, Subaru and its participating retailers have donated more than 4.6 million meals and helped provide friendly visits to seniors being served by local Meals on Wheels programs across the country. For more information, visit www.mealsonwheelsamerica.org/sharethelove. Or to find your local Subaru Retailer visit https://www.subaru.com/find/a-retailer.html?zipCode=02301

The funding from the 2024 SUBARU SHARE THE LOVE® EVENT will support the OCES Nutrition Program.

OCES Nutrition Program

OCES’ Nutrition Program, which consists of Meals on Wheels, Community Dining, and Grab & Go meals, is critical to many older adults. Through OCES’ Nutrition Program, hundreds of nutritious meals are delivered each day to adults age 60+ living within 23 communities in greater Plymouth County. These "Meals on Wheels" are essential, nutritionally-sound and satisfying meals planned by a nutritionist. With the help of hundreds of volunteers, the meals are delivered to individual homes. For many of OCES’ most vulnerable older adults and individuals with disabilities, the delivery is not only a delicious meal, but also often the only social contact of the day. Connection to the community through Meals on Wheels is also a safety check to make sure these individuals are okay.

Meals on Wheels and Community Dining menus are published in COA newsletters and on OCES' website at https://ocesma.org/programs-services/nutrition.

For a list of Community Dining meal sites, visit https://ocesma.org/nutrition/community-dining.  Please call the meal site to make a reservation.

For more information about Meals on Wheels or Community Dining, call OCES at (508) 584-1561.
